A JUDGE has ordered a murder accused to be brought to court next month after agreeing to adjourn his case.

Gavin Sartain is alleged to have murdered his partner Michelle Suttle, 23, at a house in Baker Street, Oakes, Huddersfield, in June.

The 31-year-old’s case was listed at Bradford Crown Court yesterday for a plea and case management hearing.

Sartain took part in the proceedings via a video link to prison where he is currently remanded in custody.

Former Rastrick High School pupil Ms Suttle was rushed to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary after suffering multiple stab wounds following an incident at the couple’s home.

After discussions about the case yesterday the Honorary Recorder of Bradford Judge James Stewart QC agreed to adjourn the proceedings until October 3, but he told Sartain that on that occasion he would be brought to the court.

Shelley worked as a care assistant at Elm Royd care home in Brighouse.

She left her parents, sister Kirsty, brothers Ashley, Sean, Craig, Graeme and half-brother Shane.

She died on July 9 after she was discovered with multiple stab wounds at the back to back house in Oakes.

Hundreds attended her funeral at Rastrick in July.

Her father Raymon said: “No-one ever had a bad word to say about her.”
