A man may be handed a Criminal Behaviour Order to prevent him from re-offending.
Nazar Ahmed, of Holays in Dalton, was convicted of criminal damage and a public order offence on February 22 this year.
District Judge Michael Fanning heard that an order for the 43-year-old is now being considered.
The order is available upon conviction for any criminal offence and is designed to tackle persistent anti-social offenders.
Ahmed’s solicitor Ian Whiteley said that the application will be contested.
Judge Fanning adjourned the case for the hearing to take place.
