YOUNG offenders helped clear rubbish from moorland as part of their rehabilitation.

A group of young men supervised by the Youth Offending Team spent the Easter holiday working for the National Trust at Marsden Moor.

They helped to move heavy flagstones and clear litter.

Community warden Alison Mills said: “The mission was a success.

“The young people assisted with the mammoth task of laying flags along a footpath to help prevent further erosion by visitors.

“They also got to taste what life was like aside from computer games and mobile phones.”
