THE sale of the former Brighouse Pool has been formally completed.

Developers have secured the site off Mill Royd Street, which is just over half an acre and consists of the former pool building and two car parks.

It was placed on the market just over a year ago when Calderdale Council said it was seeking two independent valuations to secure the best possible price.

It has been sold to Brighouse developer, Younger Homes Northern Ltd and yesterday the council agreed legal necessities to complete the sale.

Clr Barry Collins, Calderdale Council’s cabinet member for the economy and environment, said: “Officers from the council worked hard to ensure that the sale process was carried out in an open and transparent way and achieved the best possible price for the people of Calderdale.”

Younger Homes also put in an offer for the nearby Daisy Street car park but councillors said last year that they would retain that as a car park.
