Toddler meets star

LITTLE Holly Holt Ramsey is to fulfill an Olympics dream - in six years time.

The toddler from Shepley is one of a number of children chosen to be involved in the Olympic Games celebrations in London in 2012.

Not that Holly is bothered at the moment.

She was whisked away for a photocall with former Olympic gold medal athlete Sally Gunnell - but was more interested in playing in a giant sandpit.

Holly was born on December 20, 2004 - the 20th day of the 12th month.

The London Games organisers promised children born on that date a part in the special celebrations.

Some 750 babies signed up for the deal and many of them were at London's Canary Wharf to celebrate their second birthday.

The event was hosted by former Olympic gold medallist Lord (Seb) Coe, who masterminded the successful Olympics bid, and special guest Bob The Builder.

Lord Coe said: "We won the Games for the young people in the UK and throughout the world, to get them inspired and involved in sport.

"I am delighted Holly was able to see our offices and also get a view of the Olympic Park and see the preparations.

"She and the others have reserved a place in history and we hope it will be the best Olympics and Paralympics ever."
