A FARTOWN care home is inviting local residents to its Christmas party.
Abbey Place, on Abbey Road, looks after people with dementia.
Staff at the home are throwing a Christmas party for residents on Saturday and are keen for the local community to get involved.
Julie Emmett is development manager for Ridgemont Care Homes, which owns Abbey Place.
She said: "We would like people to come and mix with the residents and break the taboo surrounding people with dementia."
From 2pm to 4pm, entertainment will be provided by singers and guitarists.
Mrs Emmett said: "People think that because our clients have dementia that they won't appreciate the event. But it is amazing what they get from it."
All funds raised from the event will go towards buying comforts for the residents.
