FIRE crews from Huddersfield and Holmfirth attended a blaze in a metal outbuilding at sewage works near Brockholes. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze at the Neiley waste water treatment works off New Mill Road at 3.40pm yesterday .The blaze was thought to be caused by an overheating air compressor. Huddersfield Watchman, Andy Blackburn, said one hose reel was used but the compressor was completely gutted. A positive pressure ventilation fan was also used to drive the smoke away.
