OWL’S about this then?
A dozy owl left its mark at a Holmfirth home – quite literally.
For the big bird must have flown straight into the window at Joan and Neil Birks’ home while they were out.
The imprint can clearly be seen on their dining-room window – but why the owl should fly into the window at such a speed to leave such a clear imprint remains a mystery.
Mrs Birks, a managing accountant, said: "We were out at the time which I’m quite glad about because it must have made one almighty crash when it hit the glass.
"I would probably have thought someone was breaking in.
"It was only the next day that we could see the details of the owl.
"It must have been very dirty because the outline is unbelievable.
"There was no sign of the owl in the garden so it must have flown off – hopefully it wasn’t hurt."
Mr Birks, a funeral director, said amazed neighbours have been coming round to see the mark.
