THE owner of a lap dancing club that was raided after an undercover police operation has been charged.

La Salsa at Beast Market in Huddersfield town centre was shut down after officers carried out the bust last February.

Undercover special constables had been sent in to pose as customers following reports some of the dancers were performing fully nude and offering punters sex for cash.

While inside, the cops were allegedly propositioned.

An underage Romanian girl was also found to be working as a stripper.

Owner Reza Shasavar from Iran was arrested and immigration officials launched an investigation into his status in the UK.

The 36-year-old, who also owned La Salsa in Halifax as well as Barbarellas and Bar Rouge, has now been charged with six offences.

He is accused of one offence under the Immigration Act, three of fraud, one of money laundering and one Proceeds of Crime Act offence.

La Salsa – shut down by licensing bosses for breaching the terms of its licence last March – remains empty.
