A WOMAN needed oxygen for the effects of breathing in smoke after a fire at her home.

The woman had popped a frying pan on the cooker at her house on Poplar Street in Moldgreen just before midnight last night.

She then fell alseep on the sofa.

The pan caught fire and triggered the smoke detector.

Neighbours heard the noise and alerted firefighters.

The fire was confined to the pan, but had badly smoke-logged the house.

The woman was given oxygen, but did not need to go to hospital.
