A PAN left on a cooker sparked a blaze alert in Elland.
Neighbours called firefighters after smelling smoke coming from a house on Greystone Avenue at 10.15 last night.
A man living there had gone to bed. His wife had gone out after accidentally leaving a pan on with meat cooking in it.
The damage was confined to the pan.
