The toughest hills in Huddersfield tested the town’s fittest during a 13.5-mile charity run.

The third annual Huddersfield Hilly Half Marathon raised £8,000 for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice (FMNCH) at Brackenhall.

The event, organised by Prohms healthcare , was started by double Paralympic gold medalist and FMNCH ambassador Hannah Cockroft.

Matthew Hallam was the first male to cross the finishing line in 1hr 20min 24sec followed by fastest woman, Jacquie Khouely, who completed the race in 1hr 39min 55sec.

BBC Look North presenter Harry Gration also completed the course.

Sam Wood, FMNCH Senior Community Fundraiser, said: “This year’s Huddersfield Hilly Half Marathon was a great success and everybody who took part had a great time raising much needed funds for FMNCH”.
