SRI LANKA: A suspected rebel bomb exploded on a bus, killing 24 and wounding more than 30 others. The explosion took place while the vehicle was at a bus stop in the town of Piliyandala, just south of the capital Colombo. Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said the bomb was an act of rebel group Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam. The bomb was in a parcel on the overhead rack.
