THE parents of two Wakefield children who died of carbon monoxide poisoning while on a half-term holiday are to support the launch of a campaign to raise awareness of the silent killer.

Seven-year-old Christi Shepherd and her six-year-old brother Bobby, of Horbury, were overcome by the poisonous gas while on holiday on the Greek island of Corfu in October.

A series of charities and campaigners will launch a carbon monoxide awareness day in a bid to raise awareness of the dangers of accidental carbon monoxide poisoning and how to prevent being affected by the gas.

Christi and Bobby's father Neil Shepherd and his partner Ruth Beatson, who were also overcome with fumes during the same incident, will attend Tuesday's launch at the House of Lords along with the children's mother, Sharon Wood.
