Seven parents with children at Stile Common Infant and Nursery School in Newsome have completed a course organised by learning organisation Fast Lane which saw them back in the classroom for 20 weeks.
Parents spent one hour a week in the Plane Street school for five months on a scheme designed to help them give their children a hand.
Mums and dads were shown games and fun ideas to help their kids learn at home - but they also had to do their own coursework.
Learning mentor Jill Mellor said: "I think the parents were more scared of having to do the amount of coursework they had to do rather being surrounded by kids.
"They all worked really hard and did a good job. The children really enjoyed having a parent in school.
"The programme has really benefited the children and it's wonderful for them to have this boost to their self-esteem and confidence."
