VANDALS set fire to portable toilets erected in a Huddersfield park.
The hooligans set fire to the two toilets in Beaumont Park on Monday night, reducing them to a smouldering mound of molten plastic.
And their actions have saddened members of the campaign group, who enjoyed a fantastic gala day in the park on Sunday.
John Ross, chairman of the Friends of Beaumont Park, said: "We had such a great day on Sunday when so many people enjoyed themselves and saw the park at its best, and this leaves a sour note.
"We had to hire the toilets because the ones in the park are right at the other end and we needed them for the gala.
"Since we set up the group the park has been revitalised and looks cared for once more. The amount of vandalism has dropped and we are particularly saddened at what has happened."
