CELEBRATIONS have been going on all week to mark the 100th anniversary of Dewsbury Market.

Shoppers took a trip back in time as the streets were filled with the sound of a street organ playing Edwardian music.

Children have been enjoying games, street entertainment and rides on a horse-drawn carriage.

Regular market traders have been joined by traditional food and drink stalls.

And similar events will be staged in the town tomorrow. A pottery fair has also been running all week.

The celebrations were organised by Kirklees Council's market team, Dewsbury Market Traders' Association and Dewsbury Town Centre Management.

Two `fringe' events have been organised. Dewsbury Library held an exhibition of old local photos and newspapers and concert of Edwardian music hall acts will be held in Dewsbury Minster tonight.
