A TROUPE of dancing girls helped Elsie Holdsworth to celebrate her 100th birthday.
Greenacres Residential Home in Meltham, where Mrs Holdsworth has lived for 18 years, organised the entertainment as part of party celebrations for her centenary.
Mrs Holdsworth also enjoyed a special cake and had lots of visitors - along with a telegram from the Queen.
She was born in Honley, the youngest of three sisters and was married at South Crosland Church.
She has been a widow for more than 50 years.
She was a weaver at Taylor and Lodges in Albert Street until retirement.
Mrs Holdsworth lived in Netherton before moving into Greenacres.
She has two nieces, five great-nieces and nephews and numerous great-great-nieces and nephews.
