MELTHAM residents have been told: Your paving stones are coming back.
People expressed concern after a section of pavement in Huddersfield Road and Market Place was dug up and replaced with Tarmac.
But Meltham councillor Shirley Watson said she had been assured by Kirklees Highways Service that the traditional flagstones would be replaced.
"The work had to be done and in lifting the slabs, some were cracked or damaged. They will be replaced once new ones have been delivered and the work is complete."
