Penalty fines for five Lockwood bus lane drivers

FIVE drivers have been caught driving in a bus lane at Lockwood.

All have been given £50 penalty fines after being stopped by police.

Officers stepped up patrols in Lockwood Road after complaints from local residents and drivers with the First bus company.

The bus lane runs from the junction with Garden Street almost to Lockwood Bar and is in use in the late afternoons.

A police spokesman said: “We had officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team in the area and five fixed penalty notices were issued. We will continue the patrols.”
