MOTORISTS in Huddersfield continue to enjoy stable petrol prices, latest figures show.
Figures from the AA motoring organisation show the average price of unleaded petrol in the town has risen to 73.26p a litre from 72.51p a month ago.
But the cheapest unleaded available on local forecourts has dipped slightly, to 71.5p a litre from 71.7p four weeks ago.
The UK average is up to 75.30p, from 74.47p.
The average cost of diesel fuel in Huddersfield is 74.9 - almost matching the figure of 74.7p last time.
The cheapest price for diesel fuel is unchanged at 73.9p.
The UK average rose slightly, to 77p from 76.6p.
But motorists are braced for an increase on October 1, when Chancellor Gordon Brown imposes fuel duty deferred from his April Budget.
