A petrol station had to be evacuated after an oil spillage.

Staff at Morrisons Petrol Station in Waterloo shut the forecourt on Monday evening after 30 litres of petrol was spilled onto it.

It happened after a man attempted to fill up his motorbike but its tank leaked.

Firefighters from Huddersfield raced to the scene and worked for an hour to clean up the petrol by pouring sand on it and clearing it up into secure containers.

The petrol station was open as normal this morning.
