THIS off-beat photo of Sunday’s Santa Dash in Huddersfield town centre wonderfully captures the event’s relaxed mood.
It was taken by Joshua Couchman and shows a group of Santas ambling down Victoria Lane towards the Piazza and Huddersfield Library.
The British Heart Foundation had more than 15 family and friends running for the charity – and the charity’s name is emblazoned on the Santas’ backs.
The event featured 239 runners and will raise thousands of pounds for charity.
It was organised by Huddersfield Lions and last year’s tally was £6,000 for good causes – but with three times the number of Santas taking part this time they hope to raise far more with 24 charities set to benefit.
This is the second year the Lions have organised the event with previous successful Santa fundraisers in recent years staged by the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust, which also had runners in this year’s event.
