THIS spectacular photograph of Scammonden reservoir gives an overwhelming feeling of immense space.

It was taken by Yorkshire Water staff to promote a new guide out to encourage Huddersfield people to make the most of walks around reservoirs in our area.

There are several to choose from including several in the Holme Valley, but Scammonden is one of the largest.

The newly-created downloadable walking guide features 18 reservoir walks including Scammonden which offers a four-mile route through woodlands and rough pastures, taking in stunning views of the surrounding moorland and the M62.

Others in the guide include Digley near Holmfirth), Blackmoorfoot near Crosland Hill, Ogden near Halifax and Haworth Moor.

The guide is the latest phase of Yorkshire Water’s ’Ow Much? campaign which aims to highlight just what customers are getting for their money.
