STUART Vidler only took up photography as a serious hobby five years ago, but he is already producing stunning images.

“It is purely a hobby. I love it. My camera is always hanging round my neck,” he said.

“My mum used to have a farm and one day I was out and took a lovely sunset picture.

“That really encouraged me to take more photographs and over the years I have steadily updated and improved my photographic gear.”

Stuart works in quality management for Britannia Rescue in Huddersfield. He lives in Marsden and says his own skills have been improved by his membership of a group of photographers who live in the village.

“They’ve been really helpful and they are very supportive and my work has improved hugely thanks to working alongside them.”

Stuart’s latest batch of images include this moody shot taken on Holme Moor with its dramatic skies and moorland grasses offering a subtle tapestry of colour.

If your eye has been caught by a sunny face, a community event or a beautiful building, then send those images to us and we will consider them for inclusion in our Picture of the Week feature.

We are always keen to celebrate the town’s achievements, its spirit and its people. So get out the camera and share your view of what makes Huddersfield so special.

Send entries to features@examiner.co.uk or you can drop them in the post to: Pictures of the Week, Features department, Huddersfield Examiner, Queen Street South, Huddersfield, HD1 3DU.
