A petrol filling station has changed hands – and the new operators plan to sell fast food as well as fuel.

The leasehold on the Murco-branded petrol station at Huddersfield Road, Holmfirth, has been sold for £100,000 to Huddersfield-based business owners Rehan Rana and Associates who are making a first foray into the petrol retail sector.

The site includes fuel, a Premier convenience store and a post office.

The previous owners, who re-opened the site and operated it for about 18 months, are returning to their home town of Blackburn to pursue other business interests.

Mr Rana said: “We have plans to grow the business by introducing a fast food offering in the very near future, including pizza and burgers as well as coffee with delicacies. We are also working hard to reduce the prices on the forecourt and keep them in line with our competitors at all times.”
