TWO people had a lucky escape when their light aircraft crashed at Crosland Moor.

The pilot and passenger managed to get out of the aircraft unaided after it crashed at Crosland Moor airfield, off Sandy Lane, at 6.15pm yesterday evening.

The pilot suffered whiplash-type injuries and the passenger had minor injuries.

Both suffered shock and were taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch of the Government's Transport Department will hold an inquiry into the incident.
