THE grieving parents of tragic baby Millie Horan today pleaded: Let no-one else suffer like we have.

Donna Anderson and Shaun Horan feel their tiny daughter’s death had been avoidable, but praised Dewsbury and District Hospital staff who tried to save her.

After a two-day inquest in Bradford assistant deputy coroner Paul Marks said “birth trauma may have been contributed to by the attempted ventouse delivery”.

Ventouse is a delivery which incorporates a vacuum device.

Later the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust and Dr Anthony Odusanya’s solicitors expressed their deepest sympathies to Donna and Shaun.

The couple’s lawyer, Suzanne Goodall, said: “We are pleased with the comments the coroner made. Donna and Shaun just want to ensure that no-one else has to endure the ordeal they and their family went through almost three years ago and are still going through now.

“Although the trust has accepted responsibility for the actions of its staff by agreeing an out of court settlement the family feels the individuals responsible for the death of their daughter have not been held to account.”

Millie’s parents said in a statement, said: “This has been a horrific ordeal for us and our whole family.

“We were very lucky in that we have a large and loving family and group of friends. We also have a son, Jack, who was born in January, 2007.’’
