JANET McCreadie and Bailey have handed over their sponsorship cash - but have you done it yet?

Organisers of May's Examiner Charity Challenge are urging entrants to send in any outstanding money they made on the day.

Mrs McCreadie, aged 50, of Cowlersley, walked the seven-mile course with labrador Bailey.

While she made £50 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Bailey raised £43 in sponsorship for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

"I have done the Charity Challenge for a few years, but it's the first time Bailey has done it," said Mrs McCreadie.

"I always do it for different charities, depending on what's relevant at the time."

Over the years she has raised about £300 for different good causes at the event, which is Kirklees' biggest annual fund- raiser.

Bailey, who is 18 months old, thoroughly enjoyed the day out which saw walkers, bikers and horse riders experience the stunning Pennine scenery above Meltham on a glorious spring day.

"It was super and he made lots of friends on the way. We are definitely doing it again next year," said Mrs McCreadie.

Bailey cut a dash on the course with his spotted neckerchief.
