UNIVERSITY students in Huddersfield need help in making sure their film project goes off with a bang.

For their third-year practical project, the media students are making a documentary on the UK's biggest fireworks company.

But first they need help from the public in uncovering details of the company's past.

The project is a collaboration between Huddersfield University and Standard Fireworks.

The historical documentary will shed some light on the company's history.

It will look at the Black Cat takeover in the 1990s, and the company's current activities and future plans.

Standard have made fireworks at Crosland Hill for many years.

The film is set to be produced and finalised by the end of March 2007.

The production team wants to hear from anyone who has worked for Standard Fireworks, or knows someone who has.

Anyone who can help should call Michael on 07783106327.
