TAXI drivers who gave a lift to a couple in the very early hours of Sunday morning are being asked to contact police.
A man and woman were involved in a crash just after midnight last Saturday at the Tingley roundabout leading to the M62.
A P-reg red Vauxhall Corsa collided with a Ford Transit van. The woman passenger in the Corsa was slightly hurt.
It is believed the car had been stolen from the Liversedge area.
The male driver and the woman ran off.
It is believed they flagged down a taxi in Tingley or East Ardsley. It took them to Wakefield city centre, near the bus station.
They then caught another taxi to the Normanton area.
Police want to speak to anyone who may have given them a lift. Phone 01924 431059.
A Dewsbury man of 30 and a Normanton woman, 29, have been arrested and bailed.
