A HUDDERSFIELD car dealer has landed a top award for the sixth year in a row.

Polar Ford, based at St Andrew’s Road, Bradley Mills, won the title of Best Motability Dealer Group of the Year.

The dealership, part of the Ford Retail Group, beat off 742 other dealer groups to win the prestigious title.

It was presented at a ceremony held in Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire and compered by BBC newscaster Huw Edwards.

Malcolm Tutton, Motability manager at Polar Ford, said: “The Motability Scheme delivers a service that enhances the lives and opportunities for disabled people and their families.

“It is extremely important to Polar Ford and we are tremendously proud to have won Dealer Group of the Year for the sixth year in succession.

“Winning such a fiercely contested accolade six years running demonstrates the spectacular commitment from everyone at Polar Ford.”

Motability chief executive Mike Betts said: “Polar Ford deserves special recognition for winning this award. They have won it not once, twice or a handful of times but every single year for six years running – and each time significantly raising the bar in order to hang on to this accolade.”

Motability Scheme offers anyone who receives the higher rate mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement, the opportunity to drive or be driven in a brand new car complete with road tax, insurance, servicing and repairs, replacement tyres and full RAC breakdown cover for three years.
