Police are appealing for information about an assault outside a pub in Heckmondwike.

The incident was on Friday December 18 around 9.25pm at the Red Lion in Westgate when a 24-year-old man was assaulted by two other men.

The victim suffered facial injuries and needed hospital treatment.

One suspect is described as white, around 5ft 10in tall, aged about 27, of medium build with brown hair tied up with elastic bands which looked like dreadlocks.

The second suspect is described as white, around 5ft 10in, aged between 25 and 27, stocky and with shaven dark, short hair.

Det Con Annette Lane, of Kirklees CID, said: “The incident occurred on a busy Friday night and I’m sure that people at the pub could have heard or seen something.

“I ask anyone who was there to think back to if they saw something and to come forward with any information. Enquiries are ongoing.”
