POLICE in Huddersfield are trying to trace the owner of this suspected stolen watch.

The watch – a gold Waltham pocket watch with white face, gold hands and a separate dial for the second counter – was seized on Monday after officers arrested a 19-year old man.

The man was arrested as part of an investigation into the burglary of a house on Helted Way in Almondbury a week earlier.

The watch was not stolen in that burglary, but was found in the suspect’s possession when he was arrested.

Police believe that the watch has been stolen and its owner is now being asked to contact Pc Jim Calpin at the Kirklees Burglary Team via 101.

Waltham pocket watches have been around for more than 150 years and are collectors items. They were made between 1851 and 1957 in Waltham, Massachusetts, United States.
