A MAN has been arrested after shots were fired near a pub in Huddersfield.

And police have renewed their appeal for information into Wednesday’s shooting in Hillhouse.

The incident happened near to the Waggon and Horses pub, at the junction of Whitestone Lane and Bradford Road, and detectives believe several shots were fired. No-one was injured in the firearms incident but the area was sealed off for several hours.

The 25-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Friday on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and is currently in custody.

Officers are now appealing for information from residents and carrying out patrols in the area.

They are particularly keen for anyone in the area near to the Waggon and Horses pub between 3pm and 5pm on Tuesday to contact 0845 6060606, or Crimestoppers anonymously and in confidence on 0800 555 111.
