POLICE are trying to find out what happened to a 32-year-old man who was found outside a hospital with serious head injuries.
They are trying to solve the mystery of a four-hour gap between the time Darren Heaton left a nightclub and when he was found badly hurt.
They believe he may have been attacked.
Mr Heaton left the Exclusive Nightclub in Batley at 1am on Sunday, November 2 and was then found by medical staff outside the entrance to accident and emergency department at Dewsbury District Hospital at 5am.
The incident was first reported to police on Friday, November 7, and since then officers have been trying to piece together what happened.
A police spokeswoman said: "It is not clear where Mr Heaton went after he left the club until he was found. We need to speak to anyone who thinks they may have seen him or has any information."
He was transferred from Dewsbury District Hospital to Leeds General Infirmary where his condition is said to be improving.
Mr Heaton lives in the Chickenley area of Dewsbury. He is white, about 6ft tall with short light brown hair and blue eyes.
On the night he was wearing a blue Ellesse top and blue jeans.
