A WOMAN who told police she was abducted while walking alongside a busy main road has now admitted the offence never happened.

The 20-year-old had told police she was walking along Leeds Road in Bradley to see a friend in Mirfield at 7pm on Monday April 19.

A white van with the word Brent printed on the side had pulled up alongside her.

She claimed the driver opened the door, dragged her in and drove her to the nature reserve at Dalton Bank Road behind the giant Avecia plant. He had then thrown her out.

A police spokesman said: "The woman has now admitted the offence never happened and the case is closed."
