RIVAL soccer fans will be faced with a tough police operation in Huddersfield this weekend.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police and British Transport Police are gearing up to tackle any trouble between Town and Hull City fans.
Police have been monitoring internet sites on which rival groups have been taunting each other.
And officers will be targeting anyone intent on causing trouble.
The match at the Galpharm Stadium on Sunday is expected to attract a crowd of about 16,000, with at least 4,000 fans expected from Hull.
Det Con Graham Naughton, of British Transport Police, said police feared trouble.
He added that officers based at the Force Football Unit in London had monitored increased use of websites by fans.
Among the messages was one which said: "When you come to Huddersfield you are going to get it. We did you last time."
Det Con Naughton said: "The police do not set too much store by what often passes for `bedroom hooliganism'.
"But we are expecting problems and the police are gearing up to meet any problems.
"Anyone causing violence will be arrested and police will ask for three- year banning orders to any football matches," he added.
