Police are following up a new lead in the hunt for a missing vulnerable man.

They have been told that Daniel France, missing for more than a week, may have been spotted in Wyke, between Brighouse and Bradford.

Police have warned they are increasingly concerned for the safety of Mr France, a 38-year-old, single man, who was last seen in Ravens Avenue, Ravensthorpe, at 4pm on Saturday, March 12. He left behind his phone and wallet.

He is known to be a drug and alcohol user and has associated health issues, as well as being in otherwise poor health, including having deep vein thrombosis which affects his mobility.

The sighting at Upper Wyke recreation ground in Towngate was made on Wednesday, when a man resembling his description was seen.

Police have carried out searches in the area and are now checking local CCTV footage.

It is the first possible sighting since last Sunday.

Det Insp Vanessa Rolfe, of Kirklees CID said: “It is a new line of inquiry and one we are following very closely. We do not know if Mr France has links to Wyke but we are looking at CCTV images from the area”.

Mr White is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall, with short, dark brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and white and black K Swiss high-top trainers.
