Police are hunting a hooded knifeman who held a blade to his victim’s throat while an accomplice rifled his pockets.

The robbery happened in Manchester Road, Crosland Moor, near the junction with Blackmoorfoot Road, at 11.30pm on Sunday.

A man was walking home when he was approached from behind by the two robbers.

The knifeman grabbed him by the shoulder, pushed him against a wall and held a knife to his throat.

The accomplice searched his right pocket and the man handed over some property.

The man watched the men walk away then ran home and called police.

The knifeman was described as black, in his early 20s, around 6ft 1in tall, of slim build and with a local accent.

He was wearing a waist length black padded coat with the hood up and black material covering the bottom half of his face.

His accomplice was lighter skinned, in his early 20s, 5ft 11in to 6ft tall, with a local accent and wearing a similar coat.

Det Con Richard Brooke, of Kirklees Robbery Team, said: “The victim was left very shaken and we are keen to trace these two men as soon as possible.”
