POLICE have made a new appeal to track thugs who attacked two children.

A gang of young thugs launched an unprovoked attack on an 11-year-old and his sister.

The boy and his 14-year-old sister and two other young friends had just left the cinema at the Galpharm Stadium complex at Bradley Mills at 5.10pm on Sunday, October 1.

A group of between five and eight other boys and youths approached the siblings and friends and said the 11-year-old had been "looking at them in the wrong way".

Three of the thugs pushed the boy into the road and punched him in the stomach.

When his sister intervened the group turned on her and kicked her in the back.

The frightened brother and sister and friends ran to McDonalds for help.

The first thug is described as just nine or 10 years old.

He is small with blond hair and was wearing a white shirt and blue tracksuit bottoms.

The second is around 11 or 12 and of mixed race.

He had short, cropped hair and a beige beenie-style hat with a peak.

The third thug was a black youth around 13 or 14 years old.

He had curly hair and was dressed all in blue.
