POLICE have again appealed for witnesses to a crash which left a woman driver critically ill.

The 28-year-old, who has not been named, was badly hurt when her red BMW smashed into a wall on Moor Lane in Netherton at 3.20am on Sunday.

Minutes earlier the car had struck bollards coming down Lockwood Scar at Newsome.

Police want to trace anyone who saw either the crash or the car early on of Sunday morning.

The woman, who lives in Marsden, suffered serious head injuries.

She was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and then transferred to Leeds General Infirmary for specialist treatment.

She remains critically ill, but stable.
