Police have revealed a house was petrol-bombed in Upper Denby.

The attack happened on June 15 but details have just been revealed.

No damage was caused as the fire burned itself out.

Sgt Richard Haigh, of Kirklees Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Police are investigating an offence of arson after a bottle containing accelerant was thrown at a property in Fairfields, Upper Denby, in the early hours of Monday, June 15.

“The offence happened shortly after 12.20am. No damage was caused as a result of the incident.

“Anyone who witnessed anyone behaving suspiciously in the area or with information about who may be responsible is asked to call Kirklees Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team via 101.”
