Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they want to trace after an attempted sex attack in Huddersfield.

The image follows an incident at 2.50am on Saturday, September 12, when a 34-year-old woman was attacked as she was walking down Chapel Hill away from the town centre. She walked across a grassed area near to Victoria Road when the man struck.

The suspect is described as a male, wearing a hooded top that partially covered his face.

His victim was assisted by a male passer-by, and a man who had been sitting in a nearby bus shelter, using a mobile phone and wearing headphones.

Det Insp Stef Wiseman of Kirklees CID said; “Whilst in the early hours, there will still have been people who may have seen or heard something suspicious and I would appeal to them to come forward”.
