A TEENAGE girl who claimed she was sexually assaulted on scrubland made it up.

West Yorkshire police revealed the 16- year-old’s allegations were unsubstantiated.

The teen had claimed she had got a taxi from Brighouse to Bradford in the early hours of Friday and was assaulted as she walked along the street near to Queensbury Rugby Club. The police sent members of the Neighbourhood Policing Team to patrol the area and reassure local residents and an appeal was launched to find the attacker.

But the allegations were found to be false. A police spokesman said the teenager would not be prosecuted and was being supported by police and other agencies.
