MISSILES were hurled at police called to break up a fight at a Heckmondwike pub.
Nine people were arrested during the disturbance at the Red Lion in Market Street.
Two officers received cuts and bruises when they were attacked with bottles. One needed treatment at Dewsbury District Hospital.
Eight men and a woman from the Dewsbury area were arrested.
One man, aged 20, appeared at Dewsbury Magistrates Court yesterday charged with affray and both assaults on the police.
Three men aged 20, 23 and 36 were charged with affray and are due to appear at Dewsbury Magistrates' Court on May 13.
Two men were charged with threatening behaviour. They will also appear before Dewsbury magistrates on May 13.
The remaining two men and the woman received cautions.
