POLICE have pledged to track down people involved in a fight during Saturday’s Town v Preston game at the Galpharm Stadium.

They are looking at CCTV images of a disturbance inside the Stadium, which Town won 3-1.

Officers also attended an incident of disorder at the Gas Club in Gasworks Street shortly after the game when there was a clash between a small group of Huddersfield and Preston fans inside the property.

There were no serious injuries and a 34-year old local man was arrested in connection with the incident. He is currently on bail pending further enquiries.

Police escorted the Preston fans to the railway station and there were no further incidents.

Enquiries are now ongoing and officers will also be looking into reports of a fight between a group of supporters that occurred in the ground during the match.

Police will be working with both clubs to identify those responsible for any offences that were committed on the day.

A Huddersfield Town spokesman said: “The club does not condone this behaviour in any shape or form; it brings the club into disrepute and is damaging.

“We hope that, where offences have been committed, those in question are brought to justice”.
