POP maker Ben Shaws is helping to put the fizz into Huddersfield's Food and Drink festival.

The firm, based at Willow Lane, Birkby, is the official soft drinks supplier for the four-day festival, which begins next Thursday.

Ben Shaws will be promoting its re-launched range of traditional drinks and several new flavoured waters.

Festival-goers will be invited to sample the products at a Ben Shaws stand in St George's Square.

John Lodge and Karen Saunders, of Ben Shaws, presented a consignment of thirst-quenching drinks to Julia Lilof, one of the festival organisers.

The company's new logo is also featured on banners, posters and leaflets publicising the festival and distributed to local pubs and restaurants.

Karen said: "We wanted to support the festival because it is good for the town and because we are a local company.

"But we have also re- launched the company with a new logo and new labels, so it is a chance to publicise them."

Ben Shaws has given a new look to its traditional range, which features firm favourites like dandelion and burdock and yellow lemonade.

It has also added a range of flavoured waters to complement its well-established bottled spring water.

The flavours include apple and cinnamon, rhubarb and rose and plum and ginger.

The Food and Drink Festival also includes a farmers' market, cookery demonstrations, wine and real ale tastings and a children's party.

The third annual event is organised by Huddersfield Town Centre Management.
