A QUESTION Time in Huddersfield ran out of time it sparked so much debate.
The event at St Hilda’s Church in Cowcliffe, featured Huddersfield MP Barry Sheerman, Bishop of Pontefract the Rt Rev Tony Robinson, Prof Chris Cowton, Dean of Huddersfield University’s Business School and the Examiner’s head of content Andy Hirst.
It was organised by Dr John Philip, from Fixby, who is chairman of the International Fellowship of Rotarian Doctors.
Themes included youth unemployment, university tuition fees, poverty and just who is providing moral leadership in today’s society.
Mr Philip said: “The reason I organised the event was that when talking to people on a personal level they often feel their voice is not being heard and this gave them a chance to articulate those concerns.
“We may not be able to change the world, but people came away feeling more positive and knowing that if we help and support one another we can become a better community.
“The panel was very encouraging and people felt empowered to think there are things they can do to help people in society, especially our younger generation.’’
