EIGHT Huddersfield University students will see their fashion designs in the commercial world.

Their efforts accompany a new spring collection of bedding created for nationwide home furnishings retailer Dunelm Mill.

The bedding designs were created by furnishing designers Turner Bianca.

They are aimed at young people and it was decided to give the range a fashion link.

Turner Bianca turned to the second-year print textile design students at Huddersfield to create a range of garments to accompany the bedding range.

The selection of the eight students was made during the judging of a design project, set by Turner Bianca, from which three students have won a two-week placement with the company.

"The students' work was excellent, just what we were looking for," said design director Jo Bloomfield, seen with student Peter Thomson.

"We asked the students to use their inspiration from the bedding whilst incorporating either the look from a particular decade or of a favourite designer."
